If your wedding is less than 6 months away, you can skip the save the date and go straight to the wedding invitation. For weddings 6 months to 18 months away and you’re bursting with joy, eager to share the news, the save the date works perfectly to let people know to keep the date free while you perfect all the final details that will go on your actual invite. For destination weddings, there's no such thing as sending save the dates too early, especially considering the challenges of securing affordable flights and accommodation. Aim to send them out at least a year in advance for a destination wedding that requires ample notice.
